Reed Noss runs the private consulting firm Conservation Science, Inc., in Corvallis, OR. Dr. Noss is one of the nation's leading conservation biologists. He is a co-founder and board member of The Wildlands Project and board member and past president of the Society for Conservation Biology. His book "Saving Nature's Legacy: Protecting and Restoring Biodiversity (Noss & Cooperrider 1994, Island Press) became an instant classic. Dr. Noss was for many years Editor of the journal "Conservattion Biology" and has written hundreds of scientific papers on wildlife conservation, landscape ecology, ecosystem management, and ecological reserve design. His numerous co-authors are a Who's Who of American conservation biology.
