(This was originally scheduled for March 19 and has been postponed.)
If you would like to sharpen your skills at marketing your locally grown or homemade food products, Powder River Basin Resource Council is hosting a Local Foods Marketing Workshop on Thursday, May 28 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library, Inner Circle Room.
This free workshop is open to everyone who would like to learn more about marketing their food products. There will be social media, email marketing, and website sessions — be sure to bring your smartphone to the workshop for some hands-on experience. There will also be a session on setting up your booth: picking the best tent, displaying your goods, handling payments, packaging, signage, and what customers expect from your products.
The workshop will not cover the basics for beginning vendors who have never sold their products before, such as food safety, government regulations, or whom to contact for our local markets, but there will be informational handouts available.
For more information on the Local Foods Marketing Workshop, contact Powder River at 307-672-5809 or email info@powderriverbasin.org.
