Want to learn more about powering your home or business with solar power? Powder River Basin Resource Council and the Wyoming Solar Energy Association (WYSE) are hosting a Casper Solar Question & Answer Session on Monday, May 20 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at the Natrona County Ag Resources & Learning Center in the Evansville Room, 2011 Fairgrounds Road, Casper.
The event will bring solar installers and home or business owners who are interested in solar power together in a quiet, conversation-friendly environment. Installers will answer questions, and there will be a panel discussion on a range of solar power topics. The event is free and open to the public.
“When people are thinking about going solar, there can be a lot to consider. Events like this allow people to get some of their questions answered and understand how solar energy can benefit them without a lot of pressure,” said Garret Stover, a solar installer and WYSE Vice President. “Usually, people are surprised to find out that going solar is cheaper and easier than they expected.”
The Casper Solar Q&A Session is part of Powder River’s RENEWyoming campaign to assist people around the state who are interested in going solar. As installation costs have dropped, Wyomingites have taken full advantage of this opportunity to generate their own power. WYSE is Wyoming’s only trade organization dedicated to the solar energy profession and is working to advance the industry throughout the state.
“The cost of going solar has come down a lot over the last 10 years. And in many cases, there are grants or tax credits available that lower the cost even more. Solar energy is an investment that will save most people in Wyoming a lot of money over the life of a solar system,” said Stacey Schmid, a Wyoming solar professional and President of WYSE.
